Our accident investigation service is highly professional, fast and cost effective. The investigation of a motor vehicle accident involves many aspects, as at the time of
assessment appointment;-
- The accident has already occurred
- The vehicle/s has left the scene
- Most of the evidence on the scene has been removed
- Information of eyewitnesses were not obtained
This means that vital evidence and essential elements of
proof or core elements of evidence are simply lost forever.
- Upon receiving an appointment,
NCAG will obtain the necessary information and appoint specialists in the necessary fields to obtain the required specialised reports
- Upon receiving an instruction, the necessary administration is done (i.e. registration of case, appointment of assessor, inform the broker/underwriter, inform insured of whom the appointed assessor is and a fixed appointment is made by the assessor as well as application for a National Traffic Information System printout)
- Upon receiving the investigation, the assessor peruses all available documentation, instructions, claim document, policy schedule and other available documentation as well as liaise with the SAPS branch where the accident was reported.
- Entities that visited the scene (ambulance, traffic, fire brigade and tow truck drivers) are
contacted for their version of occurrences at the accident scene
- Before meeting the insured, the vehicle is inspected, photos are taken, tyre inspection is done and the contents of the vehicle are perused. The third party driver is contacted for his verbal version of the accident and, if a statement is required, an appointment is made with him/her
- Upon visiting the insured all relevant documentation regarding the insured, driver, vehicle, passengers and eye witnesses are obtained. A sworn statement by the driver is obtained and the accident scene will be visited with the driver of the vehicle.
- Enquiries are done at the accident scene (ie. eye witnesses, cameras or anything that can helpwith the independent investigation). Photographic evidence is obtained to help the viewer to "see" the accident, and if there are any contributory elements.
- Where necessary,
NCAG will, with the permission of the underwriter, appoint an Accident Reconstructions’ If necessary a Mechanical engineer or Arson investigator will be appointed
- A background check is done on the driver to see if he has had any previous involvement in
accidents, reckless driving or driving under the influence of alcohol.
