Make Bombay more livable, give it LUNGS! A giant "Greenway" to decongest Mumbai as per the @The Bombay Greenway Project has been envisioned- please please make it happen so that we live in a city for people, not cars alone -where cycling is not considered strange & outlandish, where people may not feel odd wearing normal clothes & cycling to work or a party?! What would London be without #Hyde Park, Greenwich Park, Kensington Gardens, Regents Park, St James Park, Greenpark or New York without Central Park? As per the new governments survey & plan -Juhu Beach has only 1 largely publicly accessible entry point; it's time to make it pedestrian friendly as per plan & connect it to other parts of the city via a 385 acre park as per the Bombay Greenway Project! So make it happen by connecting it to Shivaji Park and other parks where the sea has unlimited access to the beach with Juhu Beach, Mahim and Worli connected seamlessly? This scheme is excellent for the motorist too by creating underpass's all over the city for motorists, and Pedder road no longer a nightmare?- Why can't we bury highway's & roads & cover them in parks that will reconnect a divided city, will make it easier for people to choose to walk or bike across town--and will eventually link up with the city's "green network," and emulate Hamburg's plan to cover as much as 40% of the urban area in parks connected by trails? This is the original plan isnt it? With the arrival of a NEW GOVERNMENT for the state of Maharashtra, the project to cover the city railways with 3.7 km2 of parks is gaining momentum-The Bandra Talao re-imagined wt more green space and flowing traffic 13 of the 20 cities with the most polluted air are in India. Development at the cost of environment? Isnt this alarming! Trains in #Mumbai were designed to carry around 1,800 passengers, and currently hold around 5,000 per journey. 10 people die in railway mishaps every day – a figure that would have made front page news anywhere else in the world but meets with apathy in India. 3,600 deaths and over 4,000 injuries every year # railway accidents- so finally we might have trains with closing doors? All that the Congress did not do in ten years of poverty & death for India, can be seen in development & infrastructure with a proactive patriotic Indian Government today I pray? Devendra Fadnavis make it happen? We have dreams & hopes from the new government! #environment #Greenindia #greenmumbai #infrastructure #Thebombaygreenwayproject
