I offer: Headhunter, Executive Search, Recruitment, Talent Acquisition, networking, career opportunities, South Africa, Johannesburg, networker - Please call me "LJ" - all my friends do!!
So, my career includes over fourteen years in recruitment and executive search, six years' IT experience in both programming, sales, and product managent, as well as five years in banking to management level.
My background in recruitment began in Australia with Drake Personnel. I returned to South Africa in 1990 to join my father in running ourown agency, Protocol Personnel. In 1992, having built a strong track record in placement of black graduates and managers, Protocol was absorbed by the BMF (Black Management Forum), and I successfully launched and ran BMF Placement Services until 1995.
The early to mid-nineties were heady days in SA, and I guess I burned out somehow, having been shouting the odds on affirmative action and the need to redress the past for several years, and I moved from selling people into selling computers.
Following a five year stint in the IT industry I returned to recruitment as Managing Director to assist in establishing BMF Intellect, before joining Renwick Talent in 2002 where I was subsequently appointed as a director my first year of service. From Renwick I went on to establish TalentLine Executive Search with Baker Ngubane in 2005, and have recently returned to BMF (for the THIRD time - guess they aren't sick of me yet!!) to manage their executive search business.
BMF's current client base includes most blue-chip companies in South Africa.
Executive Search - Chief Executives, Financial Directors, HR Directors, Sales and Marketing, Legal. Also investigating a JV to target the ICT sector.
Personal "Likes" - writing, film, painting, sculpting, and other crafts. Classically trained in violin and piano. Any land-based ball sports, but especially tennis and cricket (okay, I'm a decent soccer player too!). Also enjoy the Great Outdoors - how could I not? I live in Africa! Just discovering a fairly new science called biomimicry, which is fascinating and a must know for anyone who cares about sustaining/developing the planet for future generations.
"Dislikes" - cold water and closed minds.
