»Charity«  - Ganz Privat Ein schönes Beispiel dafür, was man auch als Einzelner Gutes tun kann ! Im Mai 2009 hatten wir zusammen mit unserer Thailehrerin »Charity« von der ganz privaten Seite erlebt. Unsere Lehrerin hatte Geburtstag und anstelle gross zu feiern, hatten sie und ihre Zwillingsschwester beschlossen, etwas Gutes zu tun.  Wir waren von der Idee so angetan, dass wir uns sofort angeschlossen haben. Jetzt war wa wieder soweit. Maria hatte Geburtstag und wir machten uns auf um dieser Idee zu folgen ...... Die Idee: »Ein Mittagessen für bedürftige ältere Mitmenschen in einem Altenheim ausrichten« Also gingen wir zusammen mit 2 Freunden los und jeder besorgte etwas für das Mittagsessen. Gebratene Nudeln, Suppe, Kuchen, lokale Desserts  und  viele verschiedene Früchte wurden eingekauft. Dann fuhren wir zusammen in ein Altenheim ausserhalb von Chiang Mai. Das Essen wurde angerichtet und die alten Leute kamen zusammen. Es war wunderschön, die Freude in ihren Gesichtern zu sehen. Nicht nur das Essen, das mit Sicherheit eine Abwechslung zum normalen Essensplan war, sondern auch der Fakt, dass man sich um die Menschen kümmert, bringt Freude in ihren sonst sehr einseitigen Alltag. Wieder ein schöner Tag und wieder haben wir gesehen, dass man mit ein bischen Einsatz viel Freude bereiten kann. .......... Kein Geschenk ist schöner, als anderen Menschen einen Moment der Freude zu schenken. Eine Idee, die man nicht nur in Asien anwenden kann. Maria und Joachim

»Charity«  - totally private A perfect example how everybody can do something »Good« ! In May 2009 we experienced, together with our Thai teacher, »Charity« from a totally private side. Our teacher had birthday and instead of making a big party, she and her twin sister decided to do something «Good». Their idea impressed us very much so that we immediately decided to participate. Now at Maria's birthday we followed that idea once again ...... The idea: »To arrange lunch for elderly people in need who are living in an old people's home« So together with 2 friends, we went out and bought food for lunch. Fried noodles, soup, cakes, local deserts as well as many different types of fruits. After shopping,  we were going to the old people's home nearby Chiang Mai. The food was prepared and the elderly people were gathering for eating. It was very nice to see the happiness in their faces. Not only the food, which was for sure a good alternative compared to the regular menu, it was also the fact that other people were taking care about them which made them happy. It was once again a very, very nice day and we could realize again that you can do so much good thing with little effort ...... If you think about, what can be better than giving happiness and good time to other people especially those in need ? An idea, everyone can do, not only in Asia. Maria and Joachim

Once again, on Christmas Eve, the Chiang Mai ToyRide Committee volunteered to help Santa Claus make his rounds at Maharaj Hospital in Chiang Mai. Santa uses pickup trucks when there is no snow (I bet you didn’t know that)........

A Kachin/Akha community desperately needed a pre-school. The Chiang Mai ToyRide joined resources with the Chiang Mai Hiking Group to help….. The idea of setting up a pre-school in this remote Kachin village was conceived by an NGO volunteer who is also a “member” of the Chiang Mai Hiking Group. The hiking group sought and received donations to support this project in terms of salary for the teachers and reconstruction of an old nursery school building. The goal is for this pre-school to be sustained and managed by the villagers after the first year. This preschool will be used by Kachin and Akha children. THE BAN MAI SAMAKKI VILLAGE PRE -SCHOOL PROJECT On December 12, 2009 we will ride to Ban Mai Samakki Village near Chiang Dao. This is a Kachin/Akha school which is trying to establish a pre-school. CMTR is trying to help. We are donating tables, chairs, and storage shelves for the classroom. We are funding the refurbishment of existing playground equipment at the school. We will also donate educational materials. We will meet at the Chiang Mai X-Centre at approx 9:00AM on the morning of Saturday Dec 12. We will leave from the X-Centre at 10:00 AM and ride from there to the village, north of Chiang Dao. At the event, we will join with members of the Chiang Mai Hiking Group. They helped establish this pre-school and their contributions will sustain the school’s first year of operation. .....

CMTR Playground Plus! San Tor School, Hang Dong District. September 30, we met at Richco Motorsports (Harley Davidson) in Chiang Mai. With motorcycles, cars and trucks we headed for San Tor School in Hang Dong. At this school of approximately 73 children, age 5-12 years of age, we will have lunch, snacks, games and a clown.....

With the assistance of our Headline Sponsor, Chiang Mai X-Centre (Ian and Long), we have begun a project to assist the Pa Muang School in the Mae Sa Valley area of Chiang Mai. This Thai pre-school is in desperate need of new toilet facilities and other necessities such as learning material and playground equipment. ........ ............................. We completed this project and shared in a Mother’s Day dedication ceremony on August 12, 2009. We had a great time and we are very proud of what was accomplished ......

Veranstalter war die Wohltätigkeitsorganisation „Thailandfreunde“ unter der Leitung von Dirk Weeber-Arayatumsopon und seinem Partner Wuttipong Arayatumsopon in Zusammenarbeit mit ihrem nimmermüden Team. Volles Programm war angesagt, das bereits am frühen Nachmittag um 13.30 Uhr mit der Abholung der letzten Lanna-Prinzessin Dr. Chao Duangduan na Chiengmai begann ....

Thursday the 24th of September Open Chiang Mai, Northern Thailands most important website for video clips reported about the press conference of Thailandfreunde e.V. organization held 16th of September 2009, dealing with the first incredible Octoberfestival in Chiang Mai. Chiang Mais biggest local daily newspaper in Thailands Northern Metropolian city, published a report about Chiang Mai´s first incredible Octoberfestival, sunday the 21st of September 2009. The charity festival, which will take place the 17th of October 2009 in Chiang Mai, is organized of Thailandfreunde e.V.. A social organization which was founded and is led by Dirk Weeber-Arayatumsopon. The press report is published in Thai language and giving the information to the public which were told at a press conference about the charity event. The press conference took place the 16th of September 2009 in Chiang Mai. Der Zeitungsbericht der grössten Thailändischen Lokalzeitung Chiang Mai News, in Thailands Noerdlicher Metropolregion, berichtet über das erste Oktoberfest, welches am 17.10.2009 stattfindet. Das Fest wurde von der sozialen gemeinnützigen Organisation Thailandfreunde e.V., welche federführend von Dirk Weeber-Arayatumsopon gegründet wurde, organisiert.
