Conference Overview
The systems of higher education across the world are expanding and are becoming more and more inclusive and globalised in the era of globalization, privatization and the revolution in information and communication technologies (ICT). This is partly due to the ever increasing aspirations of the people for higher education. On the one hand, there is need to expand the horizons of higher education in view of the demand for the same and on the other hand there are quite a few critical impediments which come in the way of this expansion. The issues like management and administration of higher education, pedagogy of higher education, re-engineering the process and structure of education, bench-marking for future growth and development of higher education in India, role of ICTs in shaping the existing system in changing scenario of globalization and issues of privatization, governance, autonomy, accountability, accreditation, getting trained manpower in the field of higher education for sustainable growth and development of nation at par with developed nations etc. are some of the issues that have become critical and crucial for the governance of higher education sector in India.
We, therefore, like to bring out a volume of articles from scholars like you who have expertise and insights in the field of higher education on this momentous occasion. Research papers, conceptual articles and case studies on the specified themes or its allied aspects relating to the main theme of the conference are solicited. The title which we intend to give to the volume is “Higher Education Sector in India: A Way Forward through ICTs” which defines the scope of this volume. We will greatly appreciate, if you could kindly confirm us the acceptance of this invitation and send your article both in the form of hard copy and soft copy as per APA style before 12 February, 2011. It will facilitate the processing of the articles as well as the publication of the volume. We are waiting for your positive response in this novel endeavor.
