A recent article I wrote about the matter of "customer care"

The customer support departments of Indian Companies, are the worst in the world. The reason is not hard to find. Companies staff Customer Service Department with low paid, under educated people who are first of all disinterested in the menial telephone operator jobs. Most of the companies spent little on training and almost nothing on updating the staff, with latest information. In effect, when customers call, the customer support guys are at sea to understand what the issues are! Many customers end up spending hours trying to educate the support staff, since the companies themselves have chosen not to. They often lose patience and start showering choices epitaphs without knowing the fact that the party on the other end of the wire is at least smart enough to hang up! Consumers need to understand that the poor service received is more to do with the concerned company than with the intelligence of hapless call center employee.Foreign companies outsourcing customer support to India have been careful to pay more and getter better staff supported by intensive & continuing training. Customers do get a feeling that the person across knows the subject though his language may sound funny! But the story is totally different when we deal with "apna" companies! Once a customer steps out of the mundane queries, the support staff gets exposed. The dejected customer asks for senior staff. The call center employees are warned not to give their numbers lest they lose the comfort of throwing all escalated complaints down the desk, rather then actually attending to them. 99.99% of Companies in India do not publish information of senior support staff, on their websites. Harassed customers are left to pull their thinning hairs while companies hide behind the call center screens and peddle their unsatisfactory business, trapping more customers. We deal with such irritating issues everyday though its none of our fault. Should others spoil our mood and make us lose time and money due to their inefficiencies and callousness? Its time to publicize all our woes whether caused by a service provider, product supplier, municipality or whoever it is. Why should we hold back thinking that if we publish information, the other parties would be hurt? They have already hurt us by over billing, non performing mobiles, undelivered products, delayed service or whatever... its time to publish your grievances. Let the matter be placed in the open. Let other customers and potential customers read and understand your experience. "Complaints-India" facilitates consumers to post complaints about products and services offered by Indian Companies. The service is for the benefit of consumers to publicize their woes. The website posts all complaints immediately and a note is mailed to the company or agency against whom complaint is filed alerting them that one of their customers have gone public with complaint . Since the complaints are available for public viewing, companies are expected to respond and post action being taken by them, enabling resolution of complaints. The easy user interface at the website enables users to select an appropriate category and post complaints instantly. If you are harassed by issues relating to credit cards, cars, mobile services, bank accounts, civic problems, passport, online shopping, product quality, delivery delays, damage to goods, unusual billing etc go ahead and publish complaints and bring the same to the attention of companies.
